vasily lantsov is the eldest of the princes of ravka and older brother of nikolai lantsov. he is the only biological son of alexander iii, king of ravka, as his younger brother nikolai is the bastard of the queen. he was the heir to the throne of ravka before the attack on nikolai's birthday party, where he was attacked by the darkling's nichevo'ya.

biography.

Born to the King and Queen of Ravka, young Vasily was destined to become the next King. He was pampered and treated to the finest foods and drinks money could buy. He needed and wanting nothing as everything was handed to him on a silver platter.It was only a few years later when his mother fell pregnant. Word spread that this child wasn't his father's, but a child born out of wedlock. It didn't matter, Nikolai was still his younger brother. He loved him as such. Taught him to fight, ride horses. He told him to ignore what others were saying about him because it wasn't true. Nikolai was a Lantsov. He was his brother. Nothing would change that.Except things would eventually change. Nikolai hit a growth spurt that was uncommon for Lantsov men. Suspicions started to grow that maybe the rumors were correct: Nikolai... wasn't his brother. Or at least, he was only his half brother. But Nikolai was changing. He was more loved by the people, people were attracted to him. Eventually Vasily gave into the resentment growing within him. He still loved his brother, but he was started to hate him too.Time passes as it always does. Nikolai leaves and then returns with the Sun Summoner. The living saint. He's loved even more by the people. He's clearly making a play for the crown. But Vasily could make deals with important people too.He meets with the Darkling in secret. Told to meet with the Fjerdans to open a path to for them. He figures this will allow peace with the Darkling and his Second Army. Vasily would be King and the Darkling would be an advisor. It wasn't until Nikolai's birthday that he realized he had been naïve in choosing to work with the Darkling. The Shadow Summoner betrayed him. He never planned to allow Vasily the crown, but to take it for himself.He had lost everything. Including his left arm.

While his parents think that Nikolai is off at university, they believe that Vasily is off learning how to be a good king one day. And he’s also let his mother to believe he’s trying to find himself a wife, so they don’t worry in their son’s absence.When he’s on the Volkvolny with Nikolai, Vasily goes by the name Bratvulk, which comes from ‘brat volk’ which means ‘brother wolf.’ Sturmhond and himself are brothers and they tell people such. Whoever knows that Sturmhond is truly Nikolai Lantsov, know that he’s also truly Vasily Lantsov.

Vasily dies as normally, but to ensure no one fights his claim to the throne, the Darkling forces one of his nichevo’ya into him, turning Vasily into one of them. He’s alive, technically, and he does have a heartbeat.His arm is still completely gone. With the possession, he’s able to “create” a new one that can be used as a normal arm, but can also be turned back into a shadow at will. He’s loyal to the Darkling… mostly. There’s still a small part of him that’s fighting, but he’s not nearly as strong as the nichevo’ya within him. It isn’t until he can feel Nikolai, that he starts fighting harder.Once the Darkling dies, he falls back down, almost dead. He can be saved by a healer, but it has to be within the day, or he’ll stay dead.If saved, he’ll lose more of himself then Nikolai did, since he didn’t fight as hard to save himself, plus he was actually dead.

vasily abdicates the throne of ravka to his brother, nikolai, resulting in him being king. wanting to keep his brother close, nikolai appoints him to be his advisor.during this time, vasily does his best to try to help his brother rule ravka. the brothers also take this time to try and mend their broken relationship, believing that it is, in fact, possible.

after the darkling’s death, vasily runs away to kerch. nikolai doesn’t know he’s alive. he thinks he died in the attack and his body was just never found. when nikolai ( as sturmhond ) gets stuck in ketterdam, he runs into vasily, who is now working with the dregs, much to his brother's surprise.important notes:
Most people know who he is. It’s no secret, nor does he try to hide it. He gets many offers to visit this club or that pleasure house. He stays away from the pleasure houses, but does find himself drawn to the Emerald Palace. He doesn’t get very far before he hears mutters of the ‘Crow Club’ and the great luck they have while playing there. So he finds his way there.It doesn’t take long before people know he’s playing at the crow club. He wins, loses, but all and all enjoys being there.It isn’t until long after that he’s approached by Kaz Brekker, on behalf of per haskell. He thinks nothing of it, of course. He’s not cheating nor does he owe money. But he gives him a simple offer: join the dregs. With his help, they’d be able to work on larger heists, since his name still holds weight in the right circles. They would be able to freely get into locations. And he could make some money on the side. Vasily accepts.He takes the tattoo, but it’s very hidden. Once word gets around that he’s been hanging around with Brekker’s Dregs, he’s pretty much left alone.

son of alexander lantsov, the wealthy ceo, vasily was told from as soon as he started university, he was going be taking over his father's company one day. so he pretty much had no choice in taking a business major.but that didn't mean vasily couldn't have some fun while he did so.he joined a frat as soon as he could. he partied, he drank, he enjoyed his time in university. of course, all fun must come to an end. and for vasily, the ending came during his accident, resulting in an amputated left arm.

he goes by the name vladimir, it was mostly humor that drove him to that name. renowned prince, indeed. he’s still wealthy, having kept up with his winnings in horse racing. he keeps some fingers into the country’s government, not wanting to see his homeland torn apart by politics. it still does, but at least he tries.he sees his brother a few times a year. it’s weird that they’re both stuck like this but he’s happy to have some sort of support. and he likes to be supportive of him.he moves a lot, but os atla moscow is his home, no matter what. he keeps a penthouse there that he visits as much as he can.because of his high kept status, vasily makes sure none of the other people like him are ever discovered. either the person is paid off or he just kills them. it depends on the level of threat they pose.

alexander, while being a very good businessman, he also works very closely with the russian mafia. he isn't apart of them, but just helps here and there. not enough for him to get into trouble with the law, of course.wanting to appease his father and stay in his good favor, vasily agrees to help him with odd jobs, here and there. he's also not part of the group, but instead just helps his father's friends when he's needed.mostly, he's just sent off to gather information, since no one wants him getting into too much trouble.

having been born with a silver spoon in his mouth, vasily wanted nothing. his father owns The Grand Palace, a fortune 500 company that is known for its work for the ravkan military. he thought things would change when his brother was born, but nothing did. and he was happy about that.he's close to his brother, even if they are technically half brothers, but neither of them care. he was pushed off to school, with the assumption that he'd be taking over his father's business in the future. his options were.... limited. so limited that he only had one - business.but he choose to pick up a language minor so he could be better prepared for working with other countries and not needing a translator. toward the end of his 2nd year, vasily goes to a party and on the drive home, gets in an accident. because of this, he is unable to return that next year, having to stay home and recover. he returns this year, sans left arm, a little behind but ultimately... all right.ship exclusive with w4ntd

not so closeted and stuck up. would he still have the gotta get married looming over his head? yeah but he wouldn't care as much. he'd be a player, right. dating people for like a week before breaking things off and then moving on.bUT there's one girl, sofia, that lasts, to everyone's surprise, longer than his usual week. the tabloids have countdowns to when they're going to break up. but then they surpass them. they end up lasting two months before she breaks up with him. and he's... heartbroken. so he goes out to a party, fully plan on getting laid and then gets in The Accident and then his life is just thrown in a tailspin. his parents throw him away from the limelight to get him healed and functioning properly again, which last about a year or so.(make this sound decent later)

his orders were simple: keep an eye on flynn rider and report back to his father and the baron. it was easy. all he had to do with feed the actor's ego and he, very easily, found himself close to him. but things never stay easy. feelings never stay easy. it took him little time to find him genuinely becoming flynn's best friend. which... wasn't good. it took him even less time to fall in love with him. which was even worse.soon he found himself reporting less information, something his father was quick to notice. one visit later and everything had gone to shits: flynn now knew he had been working with the baron. so vasily left and flew back to russia. it was a coward's ending, but he never claimed he wasn't a coward.fast forward five years, and vasily finds himself back in hollywood, looking to try to earn flynn's trust back. it doesn't take long and they find themselves in a relationship. things are good, but overtime vasily does notice that flynn does seem to be drinking and doing quite the number of drugs.important notes:

Football was never a big deal to Vasily growing up. It wasn’t that he wasn’t interested in the sport, he just preferred other sports more. He liked his equestrian sports and that was about it. But, of course, his father would drag him ( and sometimes Nikolai ) to most, if not all, of Zenit’s games. He liked cheering for them… but that was about it. He didn’t follow them, but he liked someone to root for.Alexander was close friends with Robert Mannion, so he would also sometimes attend the Richmond games, in England, with his father as well. Those were not as fun, but he liked England. It was cool to be somewhere new. He had met his wife, Rebecca, a small number of times. Nothing very memorable for either of them, pretty much a “i think i know you?” for both of them.To their surprise, however, nikolai started playing football professionally. earning a contract with zenit pretty quickly. vasily joins him as his manager and they're a pretty successful brother duo. nikolai goes onto become the youngest captain and vasily gets him on loan to fc richmond for a season.just don't tell nikolai his brother may be seeing one of the other players.ship exclusive with w4ntd

having heard talk of a man who left his wealthy life to live out on the high seas as a pirate, vasily thought that was silly. why would someone give up a life of comfort for... piracy, of all things.of course things changed when his father informed him he was to marry a noblemen’s daughter within a month’s time. vasily was... at a loss. on one hand, he liked his life. it was comfortable. he was a prince, after all. but on another... he really didn’t want to get married to some woman he didn’t know. especially if his father was planning it.so vasily left during the night, not telling anyone where he was going. he didn’t have the time to build a boat, like the man did. ( who vasily will later learn is stede bonnet, gentleman pirate ) but he would sneak aboard a ship and, well, become a pirate. as long as no one realizes he looks very similar to the missing prince, he’d be fine.besides, what’s the worst that could happen?

vasily was raised in vault 107, an experiment vault, where each overseer was not voted for but was inherited from father to their first child ( usually boys are preferred but there has been a few women overseers in the past ). the lanstov dynasty has gone on since the great war started, with it's current overseer being vasily's father, alexander. it's assumed ( mostly by vasily ) that vasily, being the current overseer's oldest son, would take over after his father passes.while celebrating his brother's birthday, his father's right hand man, a ghoul only known as 'the darkling' decides to usurp his father's place as overseer. the people are thrilled, as feelings of discontentment have been growing with the current overseer.his parents are killed in the attack and his brother escapes, leaving vasily to deal with the darkling on his own. as a result, he is exiled and forced into the wasteland.

born to the great tsar alexander iii, vasily didn’t want for anything. he was a tsesarevich, after all. he would eventually be tsar of russia once his father had eventually passed on. so he was taught the skills to be able to do that. unfortunately, despite it being his birthright, vasily never cared about running a country.he enjoyed his horses and letting others do it for him. ( much like his father before him ) he also, much to his mother’s dismay, never cared about finding himself a wife. his mother, tatianna, offered to let him find his own wife by the time he reached thirty.that time, however, had come. his parents were urging him to find a wife so he could marry and allow the family line to continue. did he want this? absolutely not. they still had nikolai to continue the line, so who cared if he did it.

being the first born son in most families would usually be a good thing, perks that anyone would kill for. but vasily wasn’t just born to any family, he was the first born son in a family of legacy vampires, a matriarchal society. their best hope would be that vasily marries well in the future.vasily always thought his first kill would be hard, finally taking another person’s life. it was… surprisingly easy. then again, his father had prepared him for that day since he could remember. he was eighteen, having snuck his way into a bar. he was mostly there to flirt with the older men, maybe even hook up with one. and he did. it wasn’t until the next morning when vasily was kissing his neck that he could feel the vein under his lips. one little bite couldn’t hurt. and then he couldn’t stop. he didn’t want to stop. luckily for him, his father was able to clean up the body with very little being tied to him.he doesn't kill often, only if he lets things go for too long, preferring to feed more often in little doses.with so much pressure on him to marry, his father did not like that he instead choose to start sleeping with a hunter, eugene. it was thrilling at first, knowingly seeing a hunter. but, like always, things got tricky once feelings got involved. it wasn't easy, but vasily loved him and he do whatever he could to fight for them, even if it meant killing some hunters in the process.highly affiliated / ship exclusive with w4ntd

he’s a capitol kid, of course. and after nik goes off to fight in the “revolt” (snow’s words) and so he pretty much takes vasily as punishment. tortures him (losing his arm in the process) and just all around brainwashing to remind him that, hey, this is nikolai’s fault. if he didn’t run off, then they wouldn’t have to do this. thus, the resentment brews and it all around turns to a hatred of him and everyone apart of the revolution. because, like, they were comfortable. they were happy and now he’s not.and because he’s just a capitol kid and not important to the revolution (unlike peeta and the others), he doesn’t get saved. (fully believe that yes, nikolai would push for it, but alas) so it just… continues. he becomes snow’s pawn; the “anti-nikolai” basically. and even after they capture snow, he’s not trusted. and it takes….. a long time before the brainwashing is even undone. even longer for people to trust him again.

from a young age, vasily always knew he was different. he didn’t know how, exactly, but there was always a feeling. plants thrived around him, even when he did nothing to help them... or when he forgot to water it completely. it was odd and vasily just figured he had a really good green thumb. it wasn’t until he was nine, a blonde woman came to him to tell him she was his mother.demeter, the goddess of grain and agriculture, had claimed him as her son. young vasily assumed she was lying and only when his father confirmed it to be true, did he finally believe her. ( vasily would understand the ramifications of such an action when he was older ).admittedly, it made sense. his affinity for plant-life riveled even that of his brother, who was good at... pretty much everything else. it was cool until he was sent off to camp half-blood that summer, away from his parents and brother.things did get better once it was revealed that his brother was also a demigod, since he was finally not alone when he would go to camp every summer.vasily isn’t the best swordfighter, not even a decent one. so he tends to try his best to avoid training and will sit out during capture the flag as much as he can. he can be found either in the demeter cabin high or bothering his brother in the poseidon cabin.

born in the frigid waters of the artic ocean, vasily’s parents told him since he was young to never go on land, he was a prince, after all. and his place was in the oceans, where his father, the king, could protect him. and of course, vasily listened… until he didn’t.he didn’t go on land until he was in his twenties and it was an accident. ( or so he’ll claim if he ever was found out ) but to his shock. he got legs! and he looked… human. vasily could hind amongst the humans and no one would know he actually was from the sea! over time, he stays on land longer and longer. he liked being there. the people were nice and didn’t treat him any differently.his tail is a dark purple and his fins are gold. when the sun hits it just right, there’s a golden shine to it.

for as long as he could remember, vasily could understand the animals around him. not just ‘understood what they wanted’ but understood what they were saying. everyone he tried to tell about this didn’t believe him. admittedly, he didn’t believe it himself, at first. but he knew he could. they spoke to him. actual words. not just noises.it wasn’t until his father pointed out that the leader of those kids was the same man who tried to… buy him?? but vasily was more interested in the kids. kids! just like him! that could do stuff! eventually, he tried to put it past him. those kids were in america. he was… not. he still heard the animals speak. would still talk to them from time to time, but never told anyone else. kept it secret.
